Footloose

I always get nervous when they remake a classic. Movies today just aren't made like they were the first time. Take Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for example. The first one was 1000 times better than the remake. Even though we should learn from the cinema past, everyone is going to see this movie. Studios remake classics to make money. They don't care if the movie disappoints the audience, as long as they pull in the big bucks. The music, the dancing, the culture has changed drastically changed since the "original" (now we have to use that word) Footloose came out that it will be difficult to actually believe in this story.

As for the preview goes it gives you everything you were wondering about this remake. Who is the heartthrob that comes to the dancing forbidden city and saves it. What the dancing will be like. How they  will modernize the story. One part I know everyone is curious about is the "LETS DANCE!" scene. I am curious to see if they are going to remake the song and incorporate some hip-hop.

Overall I will see this in theaters if there is absolutely nothing else to see. It definitely isn't my first choice but if they release it on a weekend when no other blockbusters are scheduled, I'm in.

Captain America: The First Avenger

This trailer is why we see movies. There's awesome pump-up music, there's action, a little comedy, explosions, and then there's Captain America. They show you just enough of the story to be excited but keep you drooling for more. All the Avenger series previews are the same and all have not been disappointing yet.
You already know the characters and seeing them come to life hits that nerve that brings you back to your childhood. Your imagination is finally becoming a reality. I love comic book movies. Especially the Avenger series. They have A list stars, are action packed with explosives, shoot-outs, some sci-fi and really bring the comic book to life.
I will %100 percent see this movie in theaters. I might even pay full price to see it the first week it comes out! This movie is why I go to the movies and I can't wait for it. Awesome.

Beats Rhymes & Life

I love documentaries on history that I feel apart of. I feel especially close to this band because these guys made their run around the late 80's through the 90's which is exactly when I started to listen to music. I think its so cool how we get to see behind the scenes of  the band and see how the music changed their lives and shaped the genre of HIp-Hop. The inspiration these guys have on the music industry is incalculable. We see this from the preview. When you see Ludacris, The Beastie Boys, and The Roots all talking about how this band shaped hip-hop you have to stop and think how true that is.

I will definitely see this movie. I would see it in theaters on a Sunday morning for 6 bucks. I think that the surround sound would be awesome to watch those concert scenes.

Another Earth

This is my first post so bare with me. I will try to put everything I'm thinking into a cohesive paragraph.

Another Earth Trailer

This movie looks pretty interesting. Looks like it could have a sort of Contact/ Crash feel to it.  Fox Searchlight usually does a pretty good job picking out the diamonds in the rough and showing them to the movie world.

The preview itself keeps you interested from the first moment. They start simple with a newscast that looks like it has potential to be one of those moments you won't forget where you were when you heard it. It then goes on to focus on the story of one woman who seems like she is looking for truth of some sort or some sort of change. It's a mystery why this woman is so disturbed until we see the scene of the crash. I enjoyed how they developed her character so quickly and let us into the deep secrets of her life in the 2 minutes they had.

Overall, I would probably wait for the DVD to come out to see this. My take on movies in general is if you don't need the loud sounds and big screens, its cheaper and easier to watch a film like this in the comfort of your own home.

Let the show begin!

Welcome!

About my Blog:

If I plan on seeing a movie I always make sure to get there on time. I don't mean on time for the main attraction. I mean on time for the previews. Previews allow the audience a first look at an upcoming movie and gives them the power of a critic to decide whether the movie is worthy of their time and money. The best marketing a movie can do is make an awesome preview and have the audience psyched by a 2 minute clip and create a buzz.

I am not a writer. I don't use sophisticated words or fancy puns or anything of that sort. I am just a man who loves previews and want to share my thoughts with the world.

I will try to keep up with the most current and up to date previews and if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know.

With that said, LET THE SHOW BEGIN!!
